Description
Fixed height support pads in a ring shape manufactured in recycled polypropylene or rubber offering cost effective solution to suspending paving slabs.
Eliminates the requirement for bedding the paving slabs into mortar, reducing both mess and waste on the roof and the hassle of getting such materials onto the roof. The weight on the roof deck is also reduced.
Further adjustments can be made using shims, which can both fit onto either the rubber or plastic support pads.
Rubber paving supports pads
Wallbarn Rubber Paving Support Pads offer a perfect solution for deck paving. They lift the paving slab off the deck to improve surface drainage and protect the deck from damage by the slab. They ensure a secure, fast, clean and uniform way to lay paving slabs or decking on flat roofs, balconies and walkways.
They are specially designed circular pads of ¼" thick, manufactured from high quality synthetic rubber. They are extremely tough and have a high level of elasticity and flexibility.
On the upper surface they have four lugs to provide regular spacing between paving slabs. The under surface incorporates grooves to allow the drainage of water below the paving into the appropriate drainage outlet. This avoids pudding on the paved surface.
They offer the distinct advantages of being flexible and are easy to cut. They are extremely tough and durable, with a weight tolerance of 8 tons. They also offer sound and vibration insulation, and are extremely resistant to extremes of heat and cold.
They can be used with anti-shock rubber level to act as an effective vibration or sound control level.
Rubber paving supports pads can be used with the following accessories: 1mm shim, 2mm shim, 3mm shim, anti-shock rubber shim, adjustable shim 3-8mm.
Plastic paving supports pads
Wallbarn fixed height supports are ideal for paving on more straightforward decks.
Wallbarn fixed height plastic support pads are manufactured from 100% recycled injection moulded high-density polypropylene. They are available in two standard sizes, ⅜" and ½" high.
Although lightweight, they are very tough, with a weight tolerance of 400kg per support pad.
Wallbarn fixed height plastic support pads are made in four quadrants joined together with a small link. They can be easily snapped apart to produce segments of a half or a quarter.
They can be used with anti-shock rubber level to act as an effective vibration or sound control level.
14mm and 17mm plastic paving supports pads can be used with the following accessories: 1mm shim, 2mm shim, 3mm shim, anti-shock rubber shim, adjustable shim 3-8mm.
Rubber discs
These smooth, flat rubber discs are designed for use when only a very clearance from the deck is possible, and offer protection and drainage for paving and decking.
These discs do not have positioning lugs incorporated in the design and have a smooth face.
Where applicators have very restricted height thresholds, Wallbarn can offer a solution in the form of ¼" thick rubber discs laid in conjunction with cross spacers.
The solid circular discs are made from PVC with a smooth finish. Their bearing capacity is 8000 Kg.
Separation of each slab is achieved with a loose laid cross spacer. These are available in various thicknesses.
5mm rubber disc can be used with the following accessories: 3mm cross spacer, 4mm wide cross spacer, 5mm wide cross spacer, adjustable shim 3-8mm.
Shims
Leveling shims are manufactured in plastic and can be used with rubber supports pads for paving slabs, plastic fixed height supports pads, ASP supports for paving, TD supports for decking and MegaPads.
They are used to alter the level by very small amounts in order to get correct paving, where the thickness of the actual paving slab alters slightly from one flag to another; where the deck underneath changes; or where an unexpected door threshold occurs, for example. These minor changes can be addressed with the use of leveling shims.
Leveling shims have been designed to fit on top of all fixed height support pads and will make up those small differences in the level. To avoid one of the slabs rocking, applicators can simply hang a leveling shim onto the support pad to make up the difference.
Shims are available 1mm, 2mm and 3mm thick. They are loose fitted and held in place by the positioning lugs. The 3mm thick shim has a slightly different shape to the 1mm and 2mm shims, but all three are suitable for all of the fixed height supports. The shims will overhang the rubber ring slightly, but this is no issue. The weight of the slab will ensure that the whole system is held in place properly.
All shims can be snapped apart into quarters of half shape, where only one corner needs extra support. This is often required where just one of the flags becomes unsteady and needs bringing up to the level of the others.
Multiple shims can be stacked onto a support pad, but care should be taken that the lug does not become engulfed as this will affect the paving guide and compromise straightness. There needs to be enough of the lug showing for the slab to butt up to.
Adjustable shims
Wallbarn also offers wedge shaped discs. They slope from a thickness of 8mm at the highest down to 3mm. they can be used as a slope corrector beneath fixed height support pads.
Simply placed onto the deck with a plastic or rubber ring loose laid on top without fixings, they can take out the fall in the deck to ensure that the support pad is completely vertical and straight, and the paving does not tilt in any way.
On areas where there is only a very small threshold, it is possible to use two of these wedge shaped discs together to act as an alternative adjustable pad.
Description
ASP are designed for paving areas where very high clearance from the deck is required, or where continual and minor changes to the height is needed.
ASP support pads are available from 1" to 8 ½" high. These robust support pads can withstand concentrated loads of 400kg each, and the 7 ¾" base plate allows the weight to be evenly spread to avoid point loading onto the deck beneath.
Wallbarn’s ASP adjustable support pads are ideal as the stems pieces can be wound up and down to create level paving, saving a great deal of time and labors.
They can be used with anti-shock rubber level to act as an effective vibration or sound control level.
Adustable supports pads for paving
For roofs built to falls where there are changes in levels by a very small or irregular amount, where there is a continuous fall over a large area, or where there are multiple and complicated changes in the fall and levels across the roof – then the ASP range of Adjustable Support Pads are the perfect tools.
Since this is a suspended system, the slabs can simply be lifted up if the roof deck needs to be inspected. There is also the opportunity to hide unsightly objects such as cables, water pipes and drainage outlets underneath the paving slabs.
The support pads come in four parts: the base plate, a threaded stem, a nut fixing and the head plate complete with positioning lugs. The nut fixing is simply screwed onto the stem and rotated up or down to change the height. In this way very exact and irregular changes to the deck level can be achieved. The stems have a range of up to 1 ¼" at each size.
The weight tolerance of the adjustable supports pads is 400 kg.
Wallbarn can supply a number of headpieces for the ASP range, including: ⅓" wide lugs, Flat headpiece, Short lugs for thin tiles and Multi lugs. Also available are lugs for timber joist, used for fixing suspended timber decking.
Adjustable supports pads for paving can be used with the following accessories: 2.2mm wide headpiece (standard headpiece), 4mm wide headpiece, 10mm wide headpiece, 3mm shim, anti-shock rubber shim, 1% slope corrector, 2% slope corrector, 3% slope corrector, 3mm cross spacer, 4mm wide cross spacer, 5mm wide cross spacer, mini-base (150mm diameter).

Adjustable supports pads on smaller base
Smaller base plates are also available for ASP, useful for paving up to edges and when using smaller tiles.
Wallbarn has developed a new base plate which is 5 ¾" in diameter instead of 7 ¾" on the standard range. This base plate has been specially designed to aid installers when paving up to edge of the terrace area.
The weight tolerance is still 400 kg.
Wallbarn supplies base plate with a smaller diameter which means when the area is paved tight up against the wall or parapet the slabs are not left overhanging the headpieces, giving greater stability.
Whilst the headpiece has a diameter of 4 ⅝", the base plate is only 5 ¾" in diameter which means that the slab is properly supported on the headpiece. By either breaking off two of the positioning lugs or purchasing special lugged headpieces, users can place two edges (rather than four) of the paving slab onto the headpiece and then butt the slabs right up to the wall or edge. This create a neat finish and adequately supports the slabs.
All ASP from 1" up to 15" high can be mounted onto this smaller base, which means tiles as small as 8" x 8" can be properly supported and the cavity below still allows the free flow of rainwater from the surface.
Adjustable supports pads extended height
The EXTENSION SHANK measuring 5 ⅝" high which can be fitted into the base plate of the ASP support to increase the height up to a maximum of 14 ¼". This new extension can be applied to supports of 2 ⅜" and higher, but they allow installers to continue using ASP supports to much larger heights.
This extends the current range from 8 ½" at its highest up to 14 ¼", whilst still maintaining the weight tolerance and stability associated with Wallbarn ASP supports.
The EXT-EXTRA support. This pad has an extra-long threaded stem measuring 6 ½" total, which allows a Wallbarn ASP support pad to range from 8 ¼" to 15", giving installers a huge range of height variation when laying slabs across very complicated deck areas.
This means customers can take a single product and be confident the whole area can be installed without having to order multiple sizes of units.
Both EXTENSION SHANK and EXT EXTRA supports can have slope correctors fitted to their bases, and can be used with standard bases or the new 5 ¾" diameter base plates. Their weight tolerance is 400 kg.
Adjustable supports pads extended height can be used with the following accessories: 2.2mm wide headpiece (standard headpiece), 4mm wide headpiece, 10mm wide headpiece, 3mm shim, anti-shock rubber shim, 1% slope corrector, 2% slope corrector, 3% slope corrector, 3mm cross spacer, 4mm wide cross spacer, 5mm wide cross spacer, mini-base (150mm diameter).
Adjustable supports pads headpieces
Wallbarn can supply a number of headpieces for the ASP range.
Including: ⅓" mm wide lugs, Flat headpiece, Short lugs for thin tiles and Multi lugs.
The ASP adjustable support can have a headpiece with lugs 2.2mm, 4mm. 6mm or 10mm.

Including: ⅓" wide lugs, Flat headpiece, Short lugs for thin tiles and Multi lugs. Also available are lugs for timber joist, used for fixing suspended timber decking. The flat-headed is specifically for timber decking.
Timber decking wide joist holders
Wallbarn has recently developed a new headpiece for the TD range, with a set of joist holder’s 3 ½" (rather than 2 ¼") apart.
It is the solution when laying much larger joist frameworks. The design of the TD headpiece was adapted to create a detachable headpiece with two pegs set as a much wider distance apart, to hold and house these larger pieces of timber.
They will fit onto the entire TD range, from 1" up to 8 ½".
Description
Wallbarn has developed a new generation of support pads for higher clearance, base plate levelers to prevent tilting and locking sections to stop movement through the threads.
Designed to hold both suspended paving slabs and timber decking, these support pads have a massive range of height. We can supply fully lockable, telescopically adjustable support pads from ¾" right up to 24 ¼". These units can be used where very large areas built to falls require a large range of cavity across the whole area, or where voids are required to cover services, ducts, gulley and steps.
They are also extremely tough and strong, with each support pad able to tolerate a weight of 800 kg. This is a much greater weight tolerance than other supports on the market.
They are extremely durable and secure as they are designed to be “locked” into place so there is no chance of slabs becoming unstable.
Drainage integrity is maintained as the rainwater flows between and below the slabs without interference with the top deck. Pounding water will not disturb users.
They can be used with anti-shock rubber level to act as an effective vibration or sound control level.

Mini MegaPads
MEGAPADS ARE ALSO AVAILABLE IN SPECIAL NEW LOW SIZES. Mini MegaPads, our smallest adjustable supports suitable for paving and decking.
Wallbarn can now offer MegaPads in new smaller heights, where applicators have restricted thresholds to work with, but still required adjustable supports in order to get completely flat and seamless finishes.
These supports are available in two sizes:
¾"- 1 ⅛" and 1 ⅛"-1 ⅜" meaning that paving and decking can be suspended at much lower heights than before, but still have full adjustment. Continuous falls from ¾" up to 24 ¼" are possible using the MegaPad range.
In terms of technical performance they have the same traits as the MegaPads ranges, since they can tolerate a weight loading of 400 kg and have the double thickness stem in the center of the pad. However, they are most often used in conjunction with the ASP paving and timber decking supports range as they offer the lowest possible adjustable heights.
Edges and end-of-runs can be paved more effectively and securely with the MegaPads system.
Using these Mini MegaPads avoids the need to have to spend a large amount of time and effort placing shims under fixed height supports trying to gain the optimum level. This is important since the lowest height thresholds are most commonly found around areas such as doorways and the structure-end of terraces, where pedestrian traffic is most likely to be at its heaviest and thus a level, stable, secure set of paving or decking is most critical.
Because the amount of adjustable thread is so small – only 8mm in the case of the smaller pad – it is sometimes difficult for applicators to get their fingers into the space to alter the height. Wallbarn has a multi-function key that can be used as a wrench type tool. It grips around the vertical bars and can be used to move the thread up and down.
At 4 ⅜" high and above, the lug headpiece is removable, the support pad can be turned upside down and the lug head unit is placed onto the bottom of the base plate.
Since the base plate is 7 ¾" in diameter, when turned upside down it exceeds the diameter of the (old) headpiece; so the paving slab sits securely onto the plate and does not overhang the supporting columns. Therefore, the slabs can be butted up against the wall without problems.
MegaPads headpieces
Wallbarn can supply a number of headpieces for the ASP range.
Including: ⅓" wide lugs, Flat headpiece, Short lugs for thin tiles and Multi lugs. Also available are lugs for timber joist, used for fixing suspended timber decking. The flat-headed is specifically for timber decking.
The headpieces click into the centre of the flat head of all Megapads to house a timber joist securely in the same way that the TD headpiece does for our other adjustable range. The distance between the lugs is 2 ¼" that will house a 2 inches joist.
Because the Megapads can withstand a load of 800kg per unit, when using them for timber decking a larger span between each unit can be allowed, and with less Megapads being required, a significant cost saving can be achieved. The extended range of adjustment (4" for the larger sizes) means that less different sizes are required than for the TD support range, making purchasing an easier task. The locking mechanism on the stems also means that there is no risk of the supports starting to unwind themselves, which may cause changes in the level and instability.
MegaPad key
The Mega Pads units are made up of fixed sections which fit into one another securely, and an adjustable section on the top end which holds the head piece.
Each section is locked into place using the MegaPad key.
This ensures that none of the elements work their way loose over time and the upper surface is completely secure.
Cross spacer
The ¼" rubber discs are all flat pads, without integrated separation lugs. Where they are being used for paving, it is advisable that loose laid cross spacers are placed on the centre of the disc to achieve the accurate, straight paving line.
These polypropylene two-part pieces are slotted together to create a small cross shape, which can be fitted into the junction between four paving slabs to ensure they remain straight and in place. Therefore, regular paving can still be achieved even when using flat discs.
The cross spacers are available 3mm, 4mm and 5mm (¼") thick. All of these sizes will ensure adequate drainage, the gaps between the paving slabs depends more on the wishes of the designer.
Slope regulator
The base plates come with clip fixings to allow slope correctors to be fitted. These wedge shaped levelers help prevent tilting on the deck which has been built to falls and ensures the support pad, and its centre of gravity, keeps completely vertical; thus keeping the slabs on top perfectly stable.
They are available in 3 sizes: 1% or (0.57 °) ; 2% (1.11 °) ; and 3% (1.71 ° )
Anti-shock rubber level
These shims are styled in the same design as the standard plastic 3mm shim, but are made from PVC instead of plastic. They are 2.5mm thick and can be placed onto both fixed height support pads, ASP adjustable supports and TD timber decking supports.
They act as an effective vibration or sound control layer. They can deaden the sound of pedestrian traffic over tiles or timber decking (very useful when terraces are being installed on top of dwellings below) and give extra protection by preventing the risk of vibration damaging the tiles over time.
